No Doubt Rock Steady Rock Music CD Review
Rock Steady is the latest release from No Doubt, and is another great one from this talented group.
I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD for review that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Rock Steady. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.
Rock Steady is a nicely varied, mix of 13 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly gifted musicians. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.
I give Rock Steady my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.
While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 5 – Underneath It All, track 11 – Platinum Blonde Life, and track 13 – Rock Steady
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 2 – Hella Good. What a nice track!

Andy Williams Vocal Questions
How are music artists discovered and signed?
I am a big fan of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, and many more singers of the like. Personally, I think I sing pretty well. Is there any place (website, phone line, etc.) where I can be critiqued on my vocals? If I indeed am any good, how can I be heard and possibly be signed to a label?
Yawn… yeah… I’m sure you are as good of a singer as you have told yourself that you are. As a professional musician for over 50 YEARS, you can’t imagine how many people have come up to the stage and asked to sing along because they were a good singer… they knew it.. because their mother told them so… AND THEY WERE WRONG.
If you are so good, then go where there are live bands and ask to sing along with them. Most bands will give you 10 bars to make a fool of yourself.. before laughing you off the stage… but if you have ANY talent, you will know it when you get to finish the song.. and you have a LOT of talent if they invite you to sing another song.
